Story:

To the town’s “old timers,” it seems like only yesterday that Liberty Falls was nothing but a series of simple shacks and tents—erected by the miners for shelter as they plied their trade. But in a matter of less than 28 years, the real estate picture in Liberty Falls changed dramatically and by the late 1870s the town rivaled most any small city in the West for architectural significance and style.

What with Liberty Falls’ growth and development, Harry and Tom Cluny recognized the need for a professional real estate office to help local citizens buy and sell properties and buildings. The Cluny’s were born in New York, and their father built a thriving real estate business in Manhattan where some of the world’s most elegant and wealthy citizens made their homes. Used to such august company, the Cluny brothers made strong contacts with the finer families, businesses, and governmental leaders of Denver and Colorado Springs—and even helped shape the zoning and taxation legislation that would affect Liberty Falls. When they built their classic Western storefront, they did a political favor, too—they made room on the first floor for a small office housing “John T. Boone, Justice of the Peace”!
