Story:

Fred Cox was one of the most likeable persons you would ever want to meet. He had grown up along the shores of Lake Erie in Northwestern Pennsylvania, the son of Sven and Ingria Cox. His early training as a furniture builder came when, at the age of 14, he began work in his father’s wood shop. Soon after he arrived in Liberty Falls, he began to build simple, serviceable wooden beds, dressers, and washstands for folks that had arrived with little or no furniture of any sort. Soon, he began to expand and made the most outstanding dining room tables and chairs, complete with your family’s own crest carved into the backs of each chair. This was solid pine or walnut that was shipped in from the wood mills of the Oregon Territory.

Because he was the best cabinet maker for hundreds of miles, the townspeople soon called upon Fred to make the coffins for a loved one’s burial. Everyone agreed they were of the finest workmanship available anywhere.
